Wintersong by S.Jae-Jones

I just finished Wintersong, by S.Jae- Jones today. I needed a good young adult fantasy book after reading a steamy romance novel recently.
Wintersong is perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast, the Tryll series by Amanda Hocking, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, The Selection by Kiera Cass, and the movie Frozen. It seemed to have similar elements to all of those.
Wintersong is an enchanting tale about goblins, but it is much more than that. Elisabeth was told to stay away from goblins her whole life, but when her sister gets taken away from them she has to go find her and Elisabeth sacrifies herself to take her sister’s place in the Underground world. (I don’t want to give much of the plot away!)
I really liked the writing style of the book. It was poetic, like an enchanted captivating dance. I had only meant to read the book for a few moments before returning it back to the library but it proved me wrong. The beautiful writing style sucked me in even before I hit ten percent of the Kindle book. Sometimes books take longer than that for me to get into it. It had a good plot and I liked the musical parts of it. (This was why it seemed like The Selection to me.)
The only reason why it’s a four instead of a five is because it did kind of get a little dull after about 60-70 percent but then it picked up again a few chapters later. It wasn’t dull for very long for me. It also has a beautiful cover. I’m a sucker for books that have pretty covers and good plots. I’d recommend this story to anybody who loves young adult fantasy. This review can also be found on my Goodreads account.
