April wrap-up post 2018

This is my second time doing a wrap up post. I’m a little late with this post. We also take a peek at my TBR shelf since I actually managed to write some titles down that I wanted to read.

Sorry the photos are a little bit backwards here. I started off with Reflection in the first photo, and then Rurthless. The second Apollo book was next and then The Wicked Deep and The Fiery Heart. (I finished the last three chapters of The Fiery Heart in the morning on May 1. Does that count?)  If you want to actually see the books in order, my challenge on Goodreads will have them in order!

I read a total of 13.80 percent of a book. (I was 80 percent of the way through The Fiery Heart. I’m counting that. )

I did not finish I have Lost My Way by Gayle Forman, Now a Motion Picture, These Vengeful Souls and Operation Prom Date. I might go back to Prom Date sometime whenever the mood is sparked.

Let’s take a look at the five stars, shall we? I think I was on the roll with the five star reads this month.

  1. Reflection by Elizabeth Lim was the first five star read. I absolutely loved that Mulan retelling so much that it made me watch that movie again. That gave me appreciation for that movie now.

2.  When the beat drops by Anna Heckler

3. Love Beyond Opposites by Molly E. Lee

4. Love Songs and other lies by Jessica Pennington

5. The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw

6.  Kiss of the Royal by Lindsey Duga

I also had some four star reads this month!

  1. Someday, somewhere by Lindsey Champion
  2. The Traitor’s Prince by CJ Redwine

The three star reads:

  1. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
  2. The Dark Prophecy

Overall I thought this was a pretty good month despite the fact that I did not finish three highly anticipated reads. I was very sad about doing that. I also did not finish one I had forever.  I read a book by Grace White and I realized I never wrote a review until this weekend.

Books I own that I want to read sometime soon:

The books I want to read for the rest of the year are my ARC’s, In Search of Us, Roseblood, Not if I save you first by Ally Carter, or any other Ally Carter book I have that I haven’t read yet, American Panda, Once Upon a Dream, Daughter of the Siren Queen, any Entangled Teen/Crush book I have that I have yet to read, Say You’ll Remember Me, The Wish Granter, Everless,Heart of Iron, When We Collide, Renegades by Melissa Meyer, P.S. I still Love You and the third book to that trilogy, Love Interest, Dimple meets…

I also want to reread The Lunar Chronicles, Harry Potter, and The Mediator series by Meg Cabot.

I want to read Love, Hate and other Filters, Snow Like Ashes, A Discovery of Witches, Prince In Disguise, Warcross, Truly Devious, Three Dark Crowns, Offsetting Penalties, any book I own that I haven’t read yet….

Books I want to either own or check out from the library:
The new Court of Thorns book, Ace of Shades, To Kill a Kingdom, Love and Luck, Legendary, The Broken Girls, From Twinkle with Love, Invisible Ghosts, Traitor’s Game, and Fawkes. I also want to own Royals, Bookish Boyfriends, and the book by Jessica Pennington even though I already read the ARC books.

I had The Hate U Give on this list as well in the books I owned but needed to be read list, but I already finished that book this weekend. I almost don’t need to look for another book for the rest of the year but I probably will.

What do you think? What are some books you want to read the rest of the year? What books do you want to buy or somehow get your hands on? I was surprised the list of books to buy was so low. Do you ever buy books that you got a digital ARC book of?

  1. Thanks! I also want to read her Heist Society series and then finish her other one. I feel like I accomplished something since I finished one book that was on the list I wrote on Thursday, haha.

I am also excited for the new one. I’m curious to know what I think about Heart of Iron since I know your feelings for it. Daughter of the Siren Queen is another one too.
