Instant Pot Sunday’s

Hey guys! It’s been awhile since I have talked about the instant pot. My photos aren’t centered this time because I am on my phone.

I  had some bad luck with the instant pot a couple of times with it not pressurizing but it seems to be ok now!

I have made spaghetti in it, and mac and cheese. Tonight I converted my first recipe into an instant pot recipe! I’m only taking credit for my recipe, not the other two.

My stepmom makes this sausage, potatoes, and carrots recipe in the oven and I kept telling her, I bet I can make this in my instant pot! She kept saying it didn’t call for water so it might not work but I was determined to try it with water anyway.

Anyway, the recipe called for sausage and I sauteed those with butter, and then I added a half bag of baby carrots, two cut up potatoes and seasoning.

I set the timer for 10 minutes, but ten minutes really means 30 minutes aside from the pressurizing time, cooking time and the natural release.

My apartment now smells like corn!

The potatoes and carrots were really good and tender! I wasn’t hungry so this will be dinner tomorrow after work.

Mac and cheese

My mac and cheese recipe was found somewhere online. I just minimized the portion sizes for my instant pot mini.

I used a cup of noodles, half cup of two percent milk, a spoonful of sour cream and a lot of cheese. I cooked the noodles for 5 minutes (which was really about 20 total.) It ended up being really creamy! 

Spaghetti

It’s been awhile since I did this. I made spaghetti in the instant pot. I followed a recipe somewhere online but my instant pot wouldn’t pressurize and raise the pin for some reason.

I sauteed the meat in it and then I added angel hair pasta, one jar of sauce and one cup of water. I cooked it for 5 minutes which was shorter this time because it skipped pressurizing.

All the noodles were done though. I placed them zig zaggedly because that’s what a lot of recipes called for. I also added Italian seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder. My coworker at work really liked it! I will try spaghetti in the instant pot again.
