The Crush Collision (Southern Charmed #2) by
Haley Howell has had a hopeless crush on her brother’s best friend, Jake Lexington, for as long as she can remember. Too bad to him, she’ll forever be off-limits. But with senior year and acceptance to a college outside their tiny southern town of Culler, South Carolina, comes new confidence. Haley’s ready to get Jake to notice her—whatever it takes.
No one in Culler notice Haley Howell has had a hopeless crush on her brother’s best friend, Jake Lexington, for as long as she can remember. Too bad to him, she’ll forever be off-limits. No one in Culler notices the real Jake anymore—to them, he’s nothing more than the star football player or the kid with the family tragedy. When one mistake lands him in mandatory community service, he’s shocked to find his best friend’s little sister there, too. Jake’s looking for an escape; Haley’s looking for a chance. Together, they’ll find exactly what they need…if only they’re willing to cross that line and risk it all.
My review:
A dash of slow burning romance, a tablespoon of forbidden love, a pinch of falling for best friend’s sibling, and a cup of sports romance equals to a recipe of this lovely gem of a book.
I love a good slow burning romance book and I feel like the author went through a checklist of everything I love and wrote this for me. There was literally nothing I found wrong with this book. It just was super cute and fluffy and had lots of emotions.
And the romance, that was just perfection.
No complaints at all, and I highly recommend this book. It was a five star read and I enjoyed reading every moment of it. I am looking forward to going back to The Sweetheart Sham sometime. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for giving me the chance to read this book!
Thank you for reading! What do you think? What are some of your favorite tropes in romance books in general?
Sounds lovely, glad you enjoyed it.
