Always with Me (Whisper Lake #1) by Barbara Freethy (Goodreads Author)
Zach returns to Whisper Lake not only for a job opportunity but also for a chance at personal redemption. The last person he wants to see is Gianna, who once got him kicked out of the only place that made him feel whole. But when an accident sends her into the lake, their first face-to-face meeting in years leaves them both breathless.
And suddenly the past feels a lot closer…
Zach and Gianna back away as fast as they come together, both wary of more danger to their damaged hearts. But the recovery of a missing locket sends them on a search for a truth that leads to surprising secrets, life-changing revelations, and the chance for a love more powerful than they ever imagined. Can they trust each other the second time around?
My review:
Always with me is the first book in the Whisper Lakes books. I liked this book because it had the same feel as the Calloway/ Bridesmaids books which I enjoyed. I liked learning about all of the side characters and I am curious to learn about more. This was really only dropped down to a four star read because I was currently getting out of a book slump and didn’t enjoy it as much as I might have if I wasn’t just getting out of the book slump.
It’s definitely a good read to read while on vacation and to start off summer. I can’t wait to learn more about the other characters and I liked seeing a certain character from the Calloway series in here.
Thank you publishers for giving me the chance to read this book. This had no impact on my thoughts, my thoughts are my own.

Thanks for sharing, great review. Do you have any book recommendations for summer?

If you’re looking for one by this author I’d recommend the Calloway series or the Bridesmaids series.
If you’re looking for young adult, definitely read Sarah Dessen, Kasie West to start with. They’ve got lots of summer type of books or summer vibe books. The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw I believe might be the last name (I’m terrible with last names!!) is a good book to read in June because of the setting of the book. And also whatever you feel like reading in the summer is a good book to read in the summer. 😀
