The Influencer #2
Exes and O’s
Amy Lea
A romance novel–obsessed social media influencer revisits her exes on her hunt for true love in this romantic comedy from the author of Set On You.
Romance-novel connoisseur Tara Chen has had her heart broken ten times by ten different men–all of whom dumped her because of her “stage-five clinger” tendencies. Nevertheless, Tara is determined to find The One. The only problem? Classic meet-cutes are dead thanks to modern dating apps. So Tara decides to revisit her exes in hopes of securing her very own trope-worthy second-chance romance.
Boston firefighter Trevor Metcalfe will be the first to rush into a burning building but the last to rush into a relationship. Love just isn’t his thing. When his new roommate Tara enlists him to help her reconnect with her exes, he reluctantly agrees. But Tara’s journey is leading him to discover his own new chapter.
The more time they spend together, the more Tara realizes Trevor seems to be the only one who appreciates her authentic, dramatic self. To claim their happily-ever-after, can Tara and Trevor read between the lines of their growing connection?
My review:
Set on you by Amy Lea was one of my top ten books I read last year so Exes and O’s was definitely one of my anticipated reads this year. I liked how the girl was a bookstagrammer and I loved how the main characters in Set on you made an appearance.
It did feel like it was a love letter to the book content creators and I did like that. Some of my favorite parts of the book was when Tara was making her posts and talking with her followers.
Exes and O’s did seem to drag a bit with all of the exes. I felt like it could have been a bit shorter at some parts. Daniel was one of my favorite exes she had. I felt like it could have gone with another direction because exes are supposed to be exes for a reason but the end was still a good ending over all.
I’d say Exes and O’s was a four star rating for me. I was super happy we got another book in the Set on you universe, it just didn’t have the same spark as the book had, but I would still read anything the author writes in the future.
Thank you for reading! You guys are getting two blog posts from me tonight!
